A Very Long Walk

A least not without a cow

A surprise in the dark

It is all about the cows

Apologies, loading pictures seems to become more and more difficult, wifi is poor and 4 g very poor.

I left this morning in the dark again. I prefer not to, but sunrise out here is now not until 8:30, so not much choice. It was dark and wet, but not cold. It is quite nice to have the dawn creep over your shoulder, particularly this morning as on tree lined paths in deep wooded valleys the misty morning came to life

For the last few days there has been a prevailing odour of cow dung. The cows are very pretty, and are everywhere. Each listed 'village' is really an extended farm yard. I saw today that there are more than a million cows in Galicia, not so surprising as it looks like a supersized Devon, and rains probably more. Most of the milk in Spain must come from here but I think I am also about to enter serios cheese country.

So it was a low key, but perfect autumn day, the large town of Sarria being the only punctuation in a day of narrow wooded trails and small streams, leading through the aforementioned farm yards.

I have a nice room tonight ( last night's was grim) and within 10 mins of leaving tomorrow I will pass the 100km marker to Santiago. So, two more 30km days, back to bunks for the next couple of nights, then a 40 km walk to Santiago on Monday.
