Bus Replacement Service. Not a good start to the day, particularly as I couldn't find the bus,and missed the bus / train. Fortunately this gave me the opportunity to spend lots of money on a waterproof in the Patagonia shop in Bayonne. Eventually got to St Jean Pied de Port around 2 and the next challenge was to get some water. Then a quick, very steep march up to Orrison at about 800 m in the pyrenees. Two major observations; if you do not have an Osprey rucksack you should  not be here, also, this is the United Nations, with vast numbers of US and Canadians. I have not heard a Brit voice all day, which is quite nice. At the Auberge here there are the above, Irish, Taiwanise, Brazilian, Swedes, Germans, Scandinavians Italians,Spanish, French , South Africans etc. No Brits
