A very brief post tonight, and I will finish off off in the next couple of days. 

Arrived in Santiago mid afternoon. After a long walk,  there are still lots of hills and you do not get to the Cathedral district until you are right upon it. As with all the Spanish Cathedrals I have come across, they are squeezed in by their surroundings, so getting a view is difficult. Santiago is having major renovations, which makes things even more difficult. 

Unfortunately I was not allowed to go into the cathedral with my backpack, so have retired to my apartment, and will revisit the Cathedral tomorrow. More then. The good news is that the apartment I have rented has a lovely view of the Cathedral from the roof terrace.
