A Very Long Walk

One Week to Go

There has been a bit of a gap between the last post and this one. I have been busy organising the Coffee Morning, which was a great success. Almost 40 people came along, and raised £350.00 which is amazing. Thank you so much to the wonderful people of Field Dalling. Will and Ali  ( John's children) also came up for the weekend. I seem to have come last at Scrabble and a number of card games, it was the hangover.

Also along the way, occasionally, things get a bit difficult, and there are days, when despite outward appearances, it is difficult to function. This has been most obvious WRT to the additional things  I wanted to do for fundraising, but things are going reasonably well thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many people, so I will just be thankful for the time being.

On to practical things. The advice is to carry less than 20% of your body weight on your back. That leaves me with 5kg. Further advice (Thank-you Henrietta) is to carry no more than 3 kg. I now have  my rucksack and most of my kit. Not tried to put the latter in the former, never mind weigh it. Just to kick off, the sports tee shirt that PB  kindly sent me,  weighs 114 g. More as I pack, and then undoubtedly pack and pack again.

Every gram counts
