Party

From the ridiculous to....

Last night did not finish well. Stereo snoring. I resorted to the eye mask and ear plugs  the first was good, the latter did not help. I just wanted to get up and leave.

Around 6:00 am a huge storm came over,  not good for leaving, but by 8 the worst had passed, although the morning was pretty wet.

Within 15 mins I arrived at the wine fountain. Lovely Navarra wine on tap, all the time.

Breakfast was half way up a 400m  ascent, I met my first English person here, a other Amanda, of a similar vintage.

Los Arcos came Along after 19km. The church there is Santa Maria, the complete juxtaposition to yesterday's little church. The signal is not great, but if necessary I will load the photos tomorrow. So many wonderful things to see.

Hoping to dodge thunderstorms, but take advantage if the relative coolness, I decided a big walk today was possible. So, I followed  the route of high wide valleys, big open country and the beginnings of the Rioja valley, I covered 35 km in all. In the afternoon, I saw no one. Complete space, complete silence. Turning a corner I came across what I can only call a 'temple' of cairns, so moving,

Around 5.15 I arrived in Viana, a small ancient town, with some modern sprawl.  Today was the first time I had not booked accommodation, and was a bit worried, even more so when it became obvious that there was a big fiesta happening, but I found a bed in a dorm in the centre of town. The fiesta is Viana's own bull run. The bulls had run, but the party was/ is huge. I am not sure anyone parties like the Spanish. After a decent dinner, with Francoise (English), and Peter (German), both in this very cramped dorm, it is good night.

Oh my goodness

The noise!!!!
